Experienced Master Automotive and Light Truck Technician
- LOCATION American Garage – Chinook, Montana
- WAGE ($52,000 to $100,000/yr) – $25.00 per hour base up to $47 per hour if over 100% productive
- HOURS 40 Hours Per Week

We are seeking an energetic, conscientious, skilled and detail-oriented individual who enjoys making a difference as an experienced Master Automotive Technician to join our team. As a Master Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Your expertise and technical knowledge will be crucial in providing exceptional service to our valued customers. Any qualified applicant will possess a strong working knowledge of modern automotive systems and diagnostics, have at least five years of professional experience, and own a full assortment of his/her own quality tools. RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Perform complex diagnostic procedures to identify vehicle issues and determine the most effective repair solutions.
– Ability to determine and duplicate customer concerns
– Ability to determine cause and correction of vehicle’s symptoms
– Have a complete understanding of a vehicle’s functions
- Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of vehicle systems and components.
- Repair and replace malfunctioning parts and components, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot electronic and mechanical systems.
– Proficient with all platforms of diagnostics – equipment and systems
– Possess the ability to do programming
- Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and industry advancements.
- Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of repairs.
– Demonstrates the ability to be a team leader and willingness to help others
– Mentor and assist junior technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise to foster their professional development.
- Provide accurate information to Service Managers and Advisors for repair needs and communicate well regarding necessary repairs and maintenance through documentation and electronic communication.
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, services, and parts used through technology platforms while keeping track of time-management on each job.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to possess time management skills – meet deadlines
- Develop new skills as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an Automotive Technician program from an accredited vocational or technical school.
- ASE Master Technician certification is required
– We can help schedule testing if needed. We are open to the right individual.
– Additional advanced certifications helpful
- Proven experience as a Master Automotive Technician, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, and HVAC.
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, organizational skills, both analytical and problem solving.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and achieve deadlines as required.
- The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Maintain consistent and strong productivity percentages of at least 80% or higher
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

- Tuesday 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Wednesday 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
